How to activate eSIM on iPhone

What is eSIM on iPhone?
An eSIM is an industry-standard digital SIM that allows you to activate a mobile plan from your network provider without having to use a physical SIM. You can install eight or more eSIMs on an iPhone and use two phone numbers at the same time.

What you need
An iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR or later
A network provider or worldwide service provider that supports eSIM
Your new iPhone needs to be connected to a Wi-Fi network.*

To activate an eSIM on an iPhone, please follow these steps:

Make sure your iPhone is compatible with eSIM. You can check the list of compatible devices on Apple’s website.

Contact your wireless carrier to purchase an eSIM plan.
Once you have purchased a plan, your carrier will provide you with a QR code or a code to enter manually.

Go to Settings > Cellular > Add Cellular Plan.
Tap Scan QR Code or Enter Code Manually.
Scan the QR code or enter the code manually, and then tap Continue.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the activation process.

Once your eSIM is activated, you will be able to use mobile data on your iPhone without having to use a physical SIM card.

Here are some additional tips for activating an eSIM on an iPhone:

Make sure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS.
Make sure you have a Wi-Fi or cellular data connection.
If you are scanning a QR code, make sure the QR code is in a well-lit area and that your iPhone’s camera is in focus.
